More About Me

Hi there!  Welcome to my little corner of the blogging world.  I’ve been blogging for over 12 years and I’m just gonna tell you, things sure have changed since the “old” days.  I can’t believe 12 years is the “old days”, but in the technology world, it seems to be ancient. And I right there with it.  In fact, I tend to call myself a techno dinosaur and I really mean it.

Would you like to know a little more about me? Grab your favorite cuppa and keep reading.  waiting for BarryI have been married to Shane for over 20 years. He is my Superman, and I am his sexy wife.  Yes, I am! And he says I always will be.  Won’t that be funny, both of us doing the shuffle, shuffle in the nursing home with Shane calling out through his dentures,

“h e e e y,   s e e e x y”

It’ll probably take me 5 minutes to turn around and answer him.  Funny, he can call my name 10 times and I never hear it, but I always hear, “Hey sexy!”

Just in case you haven’t figured it out yet, we are madly in love with each other and committed until God separates us. And that’s sayin’ something for a gal that looked for love in all the wrong places as a young woman. Now that doesn’t mean we always like each other, but let me just say that like fine wine, true love only gets better with age.

The picture?  Just a state fair 2015glimpse of a nano second of our life.  A fun-filled day at the state fair.  But don’t let the picture fool you.  We struggle just like everyone.  Even those that won’t admit it.  But we know God is good, even in the midst of our struggles and His grace is amazing!

You can find me almost every Friday, linking up with Kate for her Five Minute Friday challenge.  I’ve recently started linking up with Mamakat on Thursdays and I usually post at least one other time a week and sometimes more often, it just depends on where my thoughts take me and if I have time to write them down.  The truth is I’m a wife to a man that works from home, and if the opportunity presents itself for me to spend time with him, I’m gonna take it.  I’m also a homeschooling mom to four  three kids, whoops, one of them graduated a year and a half ago.  2 of those kids are in the teen years,  and even though they’re not sure they still need me, I know they still do.   The other is my bouncing, life loving 10 year old and trust me, she needs me!

So what can you expect here?  I can’t say for sure. I can tell you that much of it will be my thoughts about life as it comes. Yep, that’s of how it rolls. One day you may pop over and find some encouraging words from Scripture, or some real, honest grit about a struggle I’m having and the next you might read a rant about gun control, or a month of posts about a country music legend in Nashville.

When I stop and think about it, I’m terrified to hit that publish button sometimes.  It’s scary to wonder what you, my readers think about what I say.  Or what you’ll think about me after I share some real, live grit. But, I’m gonna move forward and bear myself, as real and raw as I can, for myself, and hopefully to encourage you. Because God is with us in the fire. When we’re in Christ we can be refined as gold,  and clothed with His robe of righteousness no matter where we’ve been.  Trust me, If he can make beauty out of my life, he can make beauty out of yours too!

He makes beautiful things out of us

By the way, you can find me on twitter @homeskoolmomcr  and on facebook.  Told ya I’m a techno dinosaur.  I resisted twitter for a long time and I don’t do instagram, pinterest or other social media either.

  1. Christine, you, your family and your blog are beautiful because you are all an open confession and testimony to Christ, who is God and forever to be praised!
